Be a Champion for Youth: NH Marathon Seeks Community Volunteers

NEWFOUND LAKE AREA, N.H. — The 33rd annual New Hampshire Marathon, presented by lead sponsor Jeremy Hiltz Excavating Inc., is calling on community members to help make this year's event a success. 

Scheduled for Oct. 3, the marathon will take place amid the autumn foliage of the Newfound Lake region and is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support its mission of empowering local youth. 

The NH Marathon is a longstanding Lakes Region tradition, bringing together runners, volunteers and spectators to celebrate fitness, community and the area's fall scenery. This year's event will feature four races: a full marathon, half marathon, 10K, and children's race, attracting participants of all ages and abilities. All races begin at 9 a.m. at Newfound Memorial Middle School and finish at Kelley Park in Bristol. Last year's event drew a record turnout and produced a new women's course record. Organizers expect another exciting race weekend this year. Registration for the marathon, 10K and kids race will remain open through race day.

The marathon supports three local youth-development nonprofits: Circle Program, The Mayhew Program and The Tapply Thompson Community Center. Race proceeds are divided among the organizations, which provide mentorship, summer camp opportunities, year-round programming and other essential services for young people in the Newfound area. 

Organizers extend their gratitude to the many businesses and community partners whose support makes the race possible. Their commitment helps ensure the continued success of the event, supports a first-class race experience for participants, and helps generate critical funding for local youth-serving programs.

Organizers say volunteering is an opportunity to be part of a community effort that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of New Hampshire youth.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of roles, including parking, registration assistance, finish-line operations and other race-day activities.

No experience is necessary. Organizers are seeking individuals who are eager to contribute and support their community.
