Circle Program Receives $1 Million Gift from TOSA Foundation to Bolster Endowment and Support New Hampshire Girls

Updated: Sep 23

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Circle Program, a non-profit dedicated to empowering girls and young women in New Hampshire through summer camps, year-round programming and mentorships, announced a landmark $1 million endowment gift from the TOSA Foundation. This transformative donation, made by philanthropists John and Tashia Morgridge, was officially announced at Circle Program's August 23rd Celebration Event – celebrating 20 years on Spectacle Pond. The gift was made in honor of Mary Ann and John McRae, establishing the Mary Ann and John McRae Fund within Circle’s Endowment to recognize the McRae’s long-standing commitment to the Circle Program.

The new fund reflects a shared vision that every child deserves a safe, enriching, and joyful place to grow. The gift also honors both the McRaes’ and Morgridges’ deep belief in the power of camp, mentorship, community, and their enduring commitment to the Circle Program's mission.

“The TOSA Foundation and the Morgridges have been champions of our mission for many years, said Circle Program Executive Director, Beth Dever. “Their philanthropy has shaped Circle Program in lasting ways, including their instrumental role in creating our beautiful waterfront swimming area on Spectacle Pond, a cornerstone of our summer experience. This visionary new gift is a powerful affirmation of the impact they have made and will continue to make on the lives of young girls and teens across New Hampshire.”

Endowment gifts like this one are vital to Circle’s long-term stability. At Circle Program, a responsible policy is followed that allows the organization to draw 4% annually to support operational costs. At the same time, it’s important to note that endowment income represents a small portion of Circle’s annual budget. The heart of their work – from staff salaries, transportation to meals, mentorships, and summer camps for girls – continues to rely on the generosity of our annual donors. Their ongoing support ensures that Circle Program can meet immediate needs and deliver the daily programming that makes a lasting impact on the lives of young New Hampshire girls.
