Summer Employment Opportunities

Counselor

Circle Camp counselors are required to live at camp for the duration of each session, including overnights during orientation. Circle camp counselors are expected to foster, guide, and ensure the safety and growth of each camper. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -Complete staff orientation, including required overnights. -Develop curriculum for daily activity blocks, during orientation. -Live in a cabin with campers and co-counselor for the duration of each camp session and last week of staff orientation. -Responsible for assigned cabin group of 6 to 8 campers for the duration of each camp session. -Coordinate and carry out cabin activities, along with setting the structure, rules, and expectations for your cabin, leading by example. -Guide campers in their personal growth, development and everyday life skills. -Observe camper behavior, interactions, and development. -Reporting any behavioral concerns to the Camp Directors. -Responsible for specified group on field trips on and off of Circle Property. JOB QUALIFICATIONS -Experience working with children at camp or in another field. -Must be able to pass state and government background checks. -CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but can be offered by Circle Program. -Must be 18+ years of age. -High school diploma or GED required. College experience or degree preferred. -Physical ability to lift 50lbs. -Experience in activities such as; hiking, running, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, ropes course, and gardening. -Must be comfortable in rural woods living conditions.

CIT Leader

The CIT Lead Counselor is responsible for the growth and guidance of the Counselors in Training (CIT). The CIT Lead Counselor is required to stay in a cabin with the CITs for the duration of the camp sessions and last week of staff orientation. The CIT Lead Counselor will implement the CIT training curriculum developed by the Camp Director and foster the success of each CIT. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -Complete staff orientation. -Resides in the CIT cabin for the duration of the camp sessions. -Responsible for the CIT cabin group. -Knowing and being able to perform all duties of a cabin counselor. -Guide CITs in their personal growth and daily living skills. -Observe CIT behavior, interactions, and development, and report any concerns to Camp Directors. -Assist with activities, transitions, and meal times as instructed by the Lead Counselor. -Implement the CIT curriculum. -Responsible for writing a final report and recommendation for each CIT participant. -Participate and provide support during evening programs. JOB QUALIFICATIONS -Experience working with youth at camp or in another field. -Must be able to pass state and government background checks. -CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but can be offered by Circle Program. -Must be 19 years of age 20+ years preferred. -High school diploma or GED required, College experience or degree preferred -Physical ability to lift 50lbs. -Experience in activities such as; hiking, running, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, ropes course, and gardening. -Communication and mediation skills, patient and compassionate. -Must be comfortable in rural woods living conditions.

Floating Counselor

Floating Counselors travel between cabins and staffing positions that need to be filled throughout the day/week. Floating Counselors are to reside at camp in a designated cabin to keep their belongings and stay when not filling in an overnight cabin position. Circle Camp counselors are required to live at camp for the duration for each session, including overnights during orientation. Circle Camp Counselors are expected to foster, guide, and ensure the safety and growth of each camper. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -Complete staff orientation. -Live in a cabin on property for the duration of each camp session and last week of staff orientation. -Responsible for filling in cabin counselor's day off, 24 hour period. Co-responsible for different assigned cabin groups of 6-8 campers nightly. -Coordinate and carry out cabin activities, along with keeping the structure, rules, and expectations of the cabin you are covering, while leading by example. -Guide campers in their personal growth, development and everyday life skills. -Observe camper behavior, interactions, and development. -Reporting any concerns to the lead counselor, who will notify the directors. -Develop, organize and lead daily activity blocks such as; STEM, theater, expiration, art, agriculture, and more. -Facilitate transitions, and meal times as instructed by the lead counselor. Facilitate daily activity blocks and curriculum as directed by lead counselor or directors. -Participate and provide support during the evening programs and any other opportunities determined by lead counselor or directors. JOB QUALIFICATIONS -Experience working with children at camp or in another field. -Must be able to pass state and government background checks. -CPR/First Aid certification is preferred but can be offered by Circle Program. -Must be 18+ years of age. -High school diploma or GED required. Residential Nurse

The Residential Nurse position is responsible for providing care and supervising medical services. This includes but is not limited to; looking after ill or injured campers and staff, administering medication on a daily basis, and organizing medical supplies and information. The camp nurse will also ensure medications and first-aid kits are stocked, as well as keep records of all campers and the treatment used. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES -Complete staff orientation. -Provide care in medical situations and services. -Dispensing medication as scheduled or needed to campers and staff. -Ensuring all medications and first-aid kits are stocked and packed with necessary materials. -Keeping a record of who and how individuals are treated. -Up to date on all camper files and medical needs and treatments. -Ensure medical binder is locked away, but organized and easily accessible in an emergency. -Work with the camp director to ensure the Emergency Action Plan is best practice. -Practice EAP with all staff during orientation and 2-3 times throughout camp sessions. -Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to; administering scheduled medications, filling out and documenting treatment logs, ensuring all campers have needed medical equipment for the day and being present at all meal times. -The camp nurse will also be required to roam the campus in order to be available and on the move at all times, and ensure all cabins and counselors have medical supplies needed in their first aid kits as requested. -Provide administrative assistance to directors in case of an emergency, assistance and responsibilities will be determined by Camp Directors. JOB QUALIFICATIONS -Wilderness First Aid certified or other medical certification equivalent. -Must be able to pass state and government background checks. -Current CPR and First Aid certifications. -Must be 18 years of age or older, 20+ years of age preferred. -Experience in emergency response situations. -Physical ability to lift 50lbs. -Comfortable participating in activities such as; hiking, running, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, ropes course, gardening, and more.
