Patagonia Cares

Patagonia is an awesome company. They are one of those companies that allows customers to return things for almost any reason. Did you know that when Patagonia gets an item back, they turn around and donate it to a non-profit? I didn't! But our new office manager Kait did. She made a call, and a week later, three giant boxes full of Patagonia outerwear appeared in the Circle Program office.

We know that many of our girls don't have warm winter jackets, so we were thrilled to be able to let the mentors know about our wonderful bounty. Thanks to Patagonia's caring and generosity, we are able to provide better than half of our Circle Girls with these wonderfully warm coats and fleeces.

This is an email we recived from one of our mentors:

Dearest Mary,

Many, many thanks for the warm jacket for A! She was in much more need of a jacket than I knew. When I arrived at her home today, she came out in a jacket that was much too small for her and she was thrilled with her new jacket! She put it on immediately. With much of our day spent outdoors on this cold day at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science, her new jacket was especially appreciated :-). She is also skiing with her school program and she told me she was very cold these past couple weeks in her old jacket. She is so happy to be warm...thank you!

Awesome!! <3 She kept talking about how warm she was in her jacket and then the neck zips up so high it covers her mouth and nose--she kept saying to everyone, "Look--I'm a turtle!" Haha!
