5th Annual Circle Triathlon

The Fifth Annual Circle Triathlon will take place on Sunday, September 2, 2012 beginning at 8:00 a.m. (Labor Day weekend). Hosted once again by Riveredge Marina and Squam River Landing, this year’s race promises to be the best attended ever with over 500 racers expected to compete, while over 150 volunteers and 600 spectators cheer them on.

Three levels of the race ensure that all ages and abilities can join the fun. Triathletes can choose to compete in all three legs of the sprint race (bike, swim, run) as individuals, or may team up with family, friends, or colleagues from work with each member of the team completing one of the legs.

Proceeds from the race will provide financial support and scholarships for girls participating in the Circle Program. Many individual athletes have already begun to fundraise for Circle by accepting pledges of support to sponsor a girl in the Circle Program.

Event Directors Barry Gaw and Martha Macomber organized the Circle Triathlon with the goal of promoting physical fitness and sportsmanship while introducing people to the sport of triathlon. Echoing the long-standing mission of the Circle Program, the Circle Triathlon promotes an opportunity for competitors to demonstrate “…the Skills, Courage, and Confidence to Tri.”

Mission

The mission of the Circle Triathlon is to hold a community-oriented race promoting fitness, sportsmanship, and an introduction to the sport of triathlon while providing family fun and financial support for the Circle Program.

Become a Fund raiser

Why do we ask you to fundraise as a participant in the Circle Program Triathlon?

Here is why:

As a fundraising tri-athlete, you help enroll a deserving low income New Hampshire girl in the Circle Program’s residential summer camp and year-round mentoring program. These are two fantastic opportunities that she and her family would otherwise not be able to afford without your help! Your efforts give a Circle girl the gift of the chance to learn new skills, explore new interests and grow in strength of character through the support of a mentor and the Circle Program curriculum!  As you raise money through the Circle Triathlon, you are making a huge difference in the life of a local girl! Thank you!
