National Mentoring Partnership

The foremost mentoring advocacy organization in the country, the National Mentoring Partnership’s website is packed with good information. Check out “Be a Better Mentor” for an online training course, an “Ask the Expert” section, and a list of suggested activities to do with your girl. Visit the “Find Resources” section for some great links to information on the effectiveness of mentoring.

MentorGirls.org

This is a grassroots organization that provides lots of good information including a quarterly newsletter called MentorGirl Voice (“a free online newsletter celebrating the many faces of mentors, role models, and our youth who need them”) as well as a recommended reading list.

Who Mentored You?

An initiative of the Harvard Mentoring Project, this site features celebrities talking about their mentors. It also tracks current news stories about mentoring.

Public/Private Ventures

This is a public policy organization that conducts and publishes research on a variety of subjects, including mentoring. Some of the reports available online include “Building Relationships: A Guide for New Mentors."
